Think chacha.com guides are robots do you. Well here is a recent update for the guides.

We wanted to inform you of our policy in regards to Guide names. The feedback we have receives is that having real human names provides a better experience for our Infoseekers as we strive for a search that has that human touch --- it is what makes ChaCha special. If you have already received this message; we apologize for overlapping.



It does not appear as if you currently are in accordance with this, therefore, we are asking that you change your “Name” to either your full legal name or some slight variation there of (i.e. – John instead of Jonathon is fine). We are planning to remove the last letter of the Guide Name to provide additional anonymity to our Guides as well as providing more privacy features within the next version of the Underground.

How to Change Your Guide Name

From your profile, go to “My Account”. Scroll to the “Personal Information” Section and simply change the “First Name” field and “Save Account”.





Guide Display Name Policy

The Guide Display Name is the name that appears in chat sessions as well as throughout the ChaCha Underground. This name is created by pulling your “First Name” and the first letter of your “Last Name” from the information you entered during the registration process. It is important that the correct information remains in these fields as the “Personal Information” section feeds into the W9 form that is electronically submitted.



In addition, ChaCha prides itself on providing human interaction to the people that search on ChaCha; therefore, it is imperative to enter your true name to promote the “human side” of ChaCha. We are looking into alternatives to allow Guides to use a variation of their legal name, but for the time being please be cooperative of this policy.

Coming soon, great new info for Cha Cha guides

I've been searching around trying to find more info and how to help all my recent cha cha guides get off to a great start. Well I have found it. I'm happy to say that I will be implementing some wonderful information about Cha Cha to the website very soon. I hope to be done with it by the end of the week. So please stay posted. I've decided to fully change the way the Cha Cha section of the website will look. I'm trying to decide if I will just put the new info on a new site or not. Which goes to show you how much helpful information I have found. I'll make that decision today and get right to work on the new look. Just giving you guys a heads up. Cha Cha "pay me now" test

Today was test day. I figured since I was going out today and needed money to spend, I toke my visa debit card issued to me by Cha Cha. Well, to my surprise, it worked with no problem just like a regular credit card. I bought some gas, and paid a fee at my doctor's office with it, without a glitch. You better believe I will be logged into Cha Cha to work more often now. I've never been paid this fast from a job ever in my life. Good by waiting for a paycheck, hello Cha Cha.

Cha Cha "pay me now" is the real thing

If you are a Cha Cha guide then you will know, if you don't already know, what I'm talking about. If you have not turned in your IRS and FIB paperwork, you are missing out. As you may know, the main way to be paid from Cha Cha is bu visa debit card. There is a link on the Cha Cha underground site that says "Pay Me Now." You supossedly click this link and viola your instantaneously paid to your visa debit card. Well, I got my debit over the weekend and activated it. Logged into my underground Cha Cha account today, and clicked the pay me now link. Immediately I logged into my FIB account online, and there is was. My pay instantly applied to my account. I've never been paid so fast from a real in all my life.

Cha Cha guide updates

Becoming a cha cha guide has been a wonderful experience for me. Although there are still a few glitches to work out, I love it. If you are having trouble with your cha cha application, follow these three easy steps and you can get back to work.

1. Uninstall your cha cha application.
Go to your control panel. Click on add/delete programs.
Delete your cha cha application.

2. Go to www.underground.chacha.com and sign in.

3. Click my account and find the download tab.
There you find the link to download the cha cha application. And viola, you're back in business.

Some people have reported that they have to do this a few times before it will work. So please be patient.

So far I have made over $100 this week, just working cha cha in my spare time. If you just started, make sure that you log in as much as possible, get promoted on your keywords and you'll be on your way to making good money as well. Don't forget, once you become a master, you earn 10% from your network. So make sure that you invite good quality guide.

What a weekend we have in store for you!
The Good Morning America TV segment generated a huge response, including a slew of people wanting to join our great guide force. We have around 2,500 new guides coming into the system this weekend, and we need your expertise to help train them!

ChaCha Training Challenge
So we have a challenge for you! We are giving away $100 Amazon.com Gift Certificates to the top three guides that successfully complete the most training tasks this weekend. The challenge will begin Friday, October 06, 2006 at 11:59pm EDT and end on Sunday, October 08, 2006 at 12am EDT. On Monday we'll tally each guide's successful training tasks between this time, and the top 3 will earn a gift certificate!

What is considered a successful training task?
Here are a few steps you must complete for a training task to be considered successful:

1. Greet the Apprentice

2. If the search term is ambiguous, clarify what you would like the guide to search for

3. Ask what they chose as the primary phrase,and make sure it fits the search

4. Ask how the guide categorized the search, and confirm that it is categorized correctly

5. Check out their results and make sure they are relevant. This means that they are drilling down into their searches, and sending exact answers.

6. Ask the guide if they have any questions for you
